Obvara plates

$25.00

Obvara is a very special technique from Eastern Europe. Work is taken from the kiln while its red hot, plunged into a mixture of yeast, flour, water and milk, then immediately rinsed in water. The process is incredibly fast and results in beautiful, mottled patterns of black and brown.

These plates are not food safe, but they are great for a jewelry dish, a little key tray, a candle plate, or a dish under one of my obvara planters.

These plated measure about 6” across.

Because of the obvara process, no two are exactly alike.
